Does your car have a name?
Mine does. Introducing my mate, Sharky! A long grey Ford Mondeo.
If you have named your car, it might be possible to have an emotional connection to it. This might seem absurd but hell, if my car is ever in a crash and was written off, I will most likely shed a few tears!
It is our human nature to attach ourselves to objects or things around us. This is how we are built, allowing for empathy and companionship.
The options are endless when it comes to naming your car. People are inspired by the licence plate, colour, car quirks and even your personality. See our list of fun car names:
Jon Snow (White, Land Rover)
Chucky (Orange, Ford K.A)
Smurfette (Blue, Fiat 500)
Rhonda the Honda
Winnie the Mini
Shared any key life moments with your car?
Most people have memories with a car, whether it being in the past or in the present. For me I had my driving licence and my first Ford K.A before all of my friends, so I became taxi! I wouldn’t change it for the world as I’ve never felt so free, and had so much fun.
We include our cars in key life events without even thinking. Whether it being weddings, funerals, bringing a new born home, road trips, camping, spending time with friends or even romance.
Our cars are there for practical reasons and share emotional moments throughout our lives.
Does your car talk to you?
To every relationship communication is key. Your car communicates to you when there’s something wrong and with pre warning. Especially when you’ve had your car for a while, you understand its quirks and personality traits, and that helps tell you what’s what.
You know when there is a problem and how to address it then fix it. Friendship is all about giving each other the right signs and telling each other any issues you may have. Your car will always be transparent a reliable friend.
