You can cancel anytime within the ‘Your Policy’ section in the Online Dashboard.

Please consider the total cost of cancelling your policy. Different charges apply at different stages, whether we cancel or you do.  All fees can be found in your Policy Booklet and by viewing the Fees and Charges table.

You can drive before your JURNYmeter is installed, we’ll assume you drive 50 miles each day until it’s fitted.

We will contact you to make and confirm your installation appointment within the first 7 days of your policy.

You can do this by logging into your JURNY account and clicking ‘Your Account’ and ‘Contact Details’. You can update your name, email and phone number.

Your JURNYmeter is predominantly there to measure your mileage so that we can charge you accurately.

We also collect your driving data to enable us to provide a price at renewal, and for any mid-term changes that reflects how you drive.

We store the information securely and safely and follow all relevant laws.

Your insurer will pay the cost of repairing or replacing broken glass windscreens or windows.

This won’t affect your no claims discount as long as the work is done by their approved and replacement service.

You can find out who your insurer is by checking either your certificate of motor insurance or policy schedule.

You can change this through the ‘My Policy’ section in your JURNY account for free.

If you call us to make the change, there will be an admin fee of £25.

Other than changing your car, you can make twelve free changes through your JURNY account.

Your price per mile may also change.

 

 

Why would JURNY cancel my policy?2020-12-02T12:05:14+00:00

We can cancel your policy by giving you seven days’ notice in writing, either by post or in an email. If there’s evidence of fraud, we won’t give you a refund and might treat your policy as if it never existed.

The reasons we might cancel your policy are listed below.

  • If you give us information that’s wrong or incomplete.
  • If you don’t pay your premium when it’s due.
  • If you commit fraud by giving us wrong information on purpose.
  • If you don’t give us important documents or information we’ve asked for.
  • If you don’t keep your car in a safe and roadworthy condition.
  • If you use threatening or abusive behaviour towards a member of our staff.
  • If you don’t let us install your JURNYmeter in the agreed time, or the engineer can’t install it.
  • If the vehicle isn’t as you described it.

You can either make the change yourself through the “My Policy” section in your JURNY account or give us a call and we’ll make the change for you.

Changing your vehicle will depend on whether you have a self-install or professionally installed device.

Most claims will have an excess, which is the part of a claim that you have to pay.

Your first monthly fee will be taken off your provided payment card on your renewal date. Your new price per mile will take effect for all miles driven from your renewal date.

Any unused credit remaining in your account will be refunded within 10 working days unless you renew with is the credit can stay in your JURNT account.

What happens to my pre-pay account balance at renewal?2023-01-05T12:01:19+00:00

Any existing credit balance you have on your account will roll over to next year, so you won’t lose what you’ve paid so far. If your account falls into a negative balance within 14 days of your renewal date, don’t worry you can still renew with us. All you’ll need to do is pay off the balance within 7 days after your renewal date to stop cancellation.

Auto renew means that your insurance policy is automatically renewed at the end of your 12-month contract. You have the option to turn this on or off at any point during your policy. For those who still want their auto renew preferences off but wish to renew, you will see a button in which you can manually accept the renewal before the renewal date.

Am I entitled to a courtesy car?2022-03-29T11:13:52+00:00

If your car is being repaired by one of our approved repairers, you’ll be given another one to use while you wait.

You’ll still be covered by this policy while you’re driving a courtesy car.

However, there are some circumstances in which you wouldn’t receive a courtesy car including if your car is stolen or can’t be repaired.

There are no upfront costs or deposits, just a continuous 12-month contract at your quoted monthly fee and price per mile. There will only be an upfront cost if you change your vehicle at renewal. This will be quoted to you when making the change and will be taken at the same time as your first monthly fee.

When you take out the policy you will be contacted to set up an appointment to have your JURNYmeter professionally installed.

Your JURNYmeter will need to installed within seven days of your policy start date. If you haven’t heard anything please contact us.

There is no curfew. You can drive your car whenever you prefer and this will not affect your policy.

We won’t tell you how to drive as the JURNYmeter is primarily there to measure your miles so that we can charge you accurately.

When you take out insurance with us, your cover will be in place for 12 months.

After this, your policy will need to be renewed and we’ll contact you with a renewal quote at least two weeks before your cover runs out.

You will need to call us to renew your policy.

It’s important you let us know if any of your personal details have changed and we’ll also remind you of what you paid before to help you compare easily.

You are quoted a personal price per mile, which you pay as you drive through your pre-paid account. We send or install your JURNYmeter, a small device that securely measures your mileage so that we can charge you accurately. There’s no driver score, no interventions, and no curfew! You are also quoted a small monthly fee that covers you while you’re parked. These are used to calculate your estimated annual cost:

Annual Estimated Cost = (Monthly Fee x 12) + (Price-Per-Mile x Annual Estimated Mileage)

JURNY could save you money because you are in control of your insurance costs. With your personal rate-per-mile you know how much each journey will cost you. What’s more, we’ll never charge you for more than 100 miles per day and with your small monthly fee, you’re also always covered while you’re parked.

There is also no need to pay in advance or pay a premium for your car insurance. JURNY allows you to pay for your car insurance as you use it so that you won’t be paying now for something you’ll only use months later, whether through one upfront payment or paying a premium with a monthly payment.

On the day you take your policy out you will pay a set-up fee (with the equivalent transferred to your pre-paid account after 6 months), your first monthly fee, and £25 into your pre-paid account.

Everything you pay at the start of your policy will either go towards your monthly fees or the miles you drive, and it does not change your estimated annual cost. No need to pay annually in advance, or take out a financing loan to pay monthly.

We do, however, not provide temporary cover, but there are many other insurers that do. We suggest doing your own research to find the best policy for you as we cannot make any recommendations.

This policy doesn’t automatically cover you to drive abroad, so you must ask us before you leave.

This is because we can’t rely on your JURNYmeter outside the UK.

If you don’t tell us before you go, we won’t cover you for any more than we have to by law.

There is no need to pay annually in advance or monthly with interest for your car insurance. JURNY lets you pay for your car insurance as you use it. That means you won’t be paying now for something you’ll only use months later, or get charged interest on monthly payments.

If your balance becomes negative and you need to top-up we will contact you to let you know.

However, if the balance remains negative seven days after, we will cancel the policy.
